The Marshall Liberal Government is fixing the junction of North East Road and South Para Road. This junction is the subject of a lot of frustration for the local communities and I’m thrilled to see a solution. Engagement with the community is crucial, so the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) will be holding a consultation session at the Kersbrook Public Hall on the 14th December from 5pm-7pm. Please keep an eye out for official notification to come from DIT. The project will deliver improved safety when turning right out of South Para Road and making turning movements into South Para Road safer via a free flow left turn lane and a sheltered right turn lane. The $4.4 million upgrade will include:
- Pavement construction and surfacing;
- Kerb and gutter construction;
- New line marking;
- New LED lighting;
- New signage on all approaches;
- Installation of a safety barrier.
Construction is expected to commence on this important project in early 2021 with a scheduled completion date of mid-2021, weather permitting.
