Community Wastewater Management Scheme (CWMS)
For too long the issues with the City of Tea Tree Gully's Community Wastewater Management Scheme (CWMS) have been kicked down the road while local households have experienced increasing problems with the system and higher fees.
Since my election in 2018, I've spoken with many people connected to the CWMS who are rightly outraged at the state of the system, and the lack of any action over many years.
Whilst the CWMS is the responsibility of the City of Tea Tree Gully, it is clear that it is not up to scratch and not what metropolitan households should expect in 2020, and I have serious concerns about Council’s ability to rectify this situation.
I'm advocating to the Minister for Environment and Water for the State Government to intervene and find a viable, long-term solution to the CWMS.
